Why Track with A Decision Tree?

Why do we use the name 'decision' tree for the litigation process? And why do we think that this is the ideal way in which you need to track your litigation process?

The answer is quite simple: During the litigation process you are forced to take a series of decisions that alter both the outcome of the most recent trial / node or becuase they alter the 'forks' in the path that lead to your success. Each of the options has to be evaluated properly as part of your strategy and a multitude of trees needs to be created with your options in order to decide which will lead to the best result and which will lead to your success.

This process is highly non-linear and is subject to probability theory in all its decisions. Tracking the process is non-linear and the uncertainty in each of your decisions is inherent in the process.

This is exactly the reason why we use a tree structure for the representation of the process, and why we call it  a 'decision tree'.
